The Town of West Brookfield is seeking an Animal Inspector/Animal Control Officer.
The Animal Inspector/Animal Control Officer position is responsible for carrying out the powers and duties set forth in Massachusetts General Laws, local municipal bylaws and codes. Animal Inspector relates to the inspection of barns and livestock and to the care, control and licensing of animals. The Animal Control Officer position assists in animal cruelty investigations and is responsible for calls pertaining to nuisance dogs, cats, livestock and other animals, as well as helping to manage minor wildlife issues such as pet or human exposure to possibly rabid animals and quarantining animals. Both positions are compensated with stipends.

Highway Department – Full Time Operator/Laborer/Driver
The Town of West Brookfield Highway Department is seeking a full time Operator/Laborer/Driver. This position performs manual labor, operates and maintains equipment for the construction, operation and maintenance of town roads and maintains town owned facilities.
Minimum requirements: High school diploma or graduate equivalent degree or be in the process of obtaining either one. Three years of construction, snow plowing and maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must possess current and valid Massachusetts Class B CDL license with an airbrake endorsement as well as current motor carrier medical examiners certificate (DOT card). Must have a working knowledge of tools, equipment and procedures used in automotive repair work and the ability to perform equipment repair and maintenance. Must be able to demonstrate mechanical repair ability including welding, common knowledge of hydraulic and engine repair and maintenance with the ability to acquire required equipment certificates.
This is a full time, 40 hour a week position that includes overtime for snow/ice removal or emergencies. Pay is commensurate with experience.

The Town of West Brookfield Highway Department is looking for part-time plow drivers
This is an on-call position. Duties require a background in light and heavy equipment operation. High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required or experience may be substituted. Snow plowing experience is preferred but not required
Must have a valid, clean MA Driver’s License and a DOT physical card.
This position is not eligible for benefits. Alcohol, controlled substance and criminal background testing is mandatory.
