Water Department - Full Time Water Operator

The West Brookfield Water Department is accepting applications for a full time (40 hours/week) Water Operator.  The operator will work under the Water Superintendent.  The water operator shall be responsible for the maintenance, repair and operation of water treatment plants, pumping stations, storage tanks, wells, hydrants, valves, water mains and services.  Routine facility maintenance such as mowing and snow removal is also required.  This is  an overtime eligible position and emergency response for water system issues should be expected.

Applicants must have a high school diploma and a valid Massachusetts Driver's license.  Preference will be given to applicants holding current massachusetts Grade 2 or higher drinking water operators licenses in good standing for treatment and distribution.   Applicants without water operator licenses must obtain both treatment and distribution licenses within 6 months of hire.

Water Department - Part-time Water Operator

The West Brookfield Water Department is accepting applications for a part time (weekends, holidays) Water Operator.  The Operator will work under the Water Superintendent.  The Water Operator shall be responsible for the maintenance, repair and operation of the water treatment plants, pumping stations, storage tanks, wells, hydrants, valves, water mains and services.

Applicants must have a high school diploma or equivalent and a valid Massachusetts Driver's license.  Applicants must have current Massachusetts Grade 1 or higher drinking water operator's licenses in good standing for treatment and distribution.
