The Highway Department is seeking applications for part-time Plow Drivers.

This is an on-call position. Duties require a background in light and heavy equipment operation. High School Diploma or G.E.D. is required or equivalent experience. Snow plowing experience is preferred but not required.

Must have a valid, clean MA Driver’s License and a DOT physical card. Starting pay is $21.88/hour for non-CDL Driver’s or $25.05/hour with a Class B CDL License with air brakes.

This position is not eligible for benefits. Alcohol, controlled substances and criminal background testing are mandatory.

Employment Application

The West Brookfield Highway Department seeks a Mechanic/Heavy Motor Equipment Operator to perform maintenance and repair work on automotive and certain electrical and mechanical equipment; and light/heavy construction equipment. In addition, the successful candidate will operate heavy equipment and/or trucks for the highway department; and related work as required.

Duties

• Perform equipment inspections, routine maintenance, and repairs using hand tools and power tools; apply mechanical knowledge and welding skills as needed.
• Operate light and or heavy construction equipment.
• Support roadway construction projects, as directed by the Superintendent
• Follow safety protocols, including safe manual handling and heavy lifting practices, and around moving equipment.

Experience

• Experience operating heavy equipment
• Road construction, highway maintenance, or construction site experience is valuable
• Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience in mechanic position
• Ability to work outdoors, perform manual handling and heavy lifting, and adhere to safety procedures in active work zones.

Salary range based on experience: $27.86 - $36.04 per hour

Full-time benefitted position - 40 hours per week

The CAC (Cable Advisory Committee) has an opening. It is a three-person committee charged with recommending action to the Board of Selectmen on Cable Provider Contract Renewal, a workable budget supporting the activities of WBCTV using PEG funds provided by Franchise Fees from the Cable Provider and supervising studio staff and channel content.
